barril

Barril draws from the drum at the heart of bomba, a tradition where rhythm responds to movement and the body leads the sound. In bomba, the exchange between dancer and drummer creates a charged dialogue rooted in improvisation, passion, and community. Through its simplified, resonant form, Barril reinterprets the drum as a sculptural object, carrying forward the spirit of cultural affirmation, collective expression, and presence.
